Michelin Energy Saver awarded Which? ‘Best Buy’ accolade

The Michelin Energy Saver car tyre has been awarded ‘Best Buy’ status in a recent test of summer tyres by the consumer magazine, Which?

The test of 165/70 R 14 T tyres, in the April issue of the magazine, rated them in all the main areas of performance including wet and
dry handling and braking, external drive-by noise, fuel consumption and wear.

The Michelin Energy Saver is the Company’s fourth generation of 'green' car tyres which replaced the previous Energy range and is designed to improve fuel consumption, and thus reduce CO2 emissions, by reducing rolling resistance.

Due to Michelin’s focus on ‘Balance of Performance’, the low-rolling resistance performance of the Energy Saver does not come at the cost of performance in other important areas like safety, handling and driver comfort.

Commenting on the test results, Steve Dolby, Michelin’s Product Marketing Manager said, "This is a great test result for us and reinforces the Balance of Performance philosophy that we employ in the design of all our tyres where no one area of performance should negatively affect another."

"It is also interesting that the Which? test focussed on criteria that will appear on tyre labels when the legislation comes into effect later this year. This should help consumers make more informed decisions when purchasing tyres, based on important considerations like safety and the environment," he added.

The Michelin Energy Saver is designed to equip a wide range of cars in the market – including city cars, family cars, and MPVs. The range covers tyre sizes from 14-inch to 16-inch with speed symbols of T, H and V.
