Porsche delivers 7.2 per cent more vehicles worldwide in April

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, again boosted its customer deliveries in April 2012 - a total of 12,588 vehicles were sold – a 7.2 per cent increase compared with the same month the year before. In the first four months, the sports car manufacturer delivered 43,141
new cars to customers worldwide (+12.6 per cent).

“With a new best performance for customer deliveries in April, we are on track for our Strategy 2018 growth,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG. “Our key strategic objective is and remains qualitative growth – especially in the context of a mixed global economic picture.”

All sales regions posted growth in April 2012. The domestic market Germany (+21.5 per cent) and Russia (+22.9 per cent) in particular have made a positive contribution to increasing deliveries: 4,682 vehicles were handed over to customers in Europe – up 13.1 per cent compared with April 2011. With unit sales of 3,437, the traditionally important US market also achieved an 8.4 per cent increase compared with the same month the year before.

The global success of the Porsche 911 Carrera continued in April 2012: the 3,123 rear-engine sports cars delivered to customers were 40.4 per cent more than the same month the previous year. More than one third of the total – 1,127 vehicles to be exact – was accounted for by the USA. The Cayenne again took the top slot in the reporting month: 6,037 sporty SUVs were sold worldwide.
