Yamaha 2013 off-road competition

Yamaha continues to offer one of the widest ranges of 4-stroke and 2-stroke competition machinery, with each model designed to deliver outstanding performance, quality and reliability. 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of Yamaha's first World Motocross
Championship title and with over four decades of development and many more World titles behind them, our latest motocross models are engineered to win.

YZ250F - New for UK
Already favoured by top riders thanks to its now legendary cornering performance, the YZ250F is now more competitive than ever, thanks to a host of engineering advances.

With revisions to ignition settings, a piston assembly which is 8.7 per cent lighter and an increase of 2 mm in the diameter of the carburettor main bore, the 2013 YZ250F power plant now provides noticeably improved throttle response and power at mid to high speeds, as well as improved fuel efficiency.

The engine is not the only area to have been improved, as the chassis has also received a number of updates to keep it at the head of the pack. The bilateral beam frame introduced in 2010, has been strengthened to increase rigidity, with additional bracing added internally to the top rails and the rear swingarm mounts receiving an increase in surface area. The engine mounting brackets have also been adapted to compliment the frame changes.

Up front, the YZ250F now benefits from components featured on its larger 450-sibling. For improved
stability on jumps and turns, the fork outer tubes, bottom yoke and handlebar crown from the YZ450F have now been adopted. With overall rigidity now increased by 150 per cent and a reduction in fork offset by 3 mm (25 mm to 22 mm), damping settings have also been revised to suit the new configuration. At the rear, the shock piston rod has been reduced in diameter by 2 mm and the rebound fluid passage modified to offer improved damping performance over the entire operational stroke. With revised damping settings and sharper handling front and rear, the YZ250F's chassis now lets you exploit the full potential of its engine improvements. For an all-round improved riding feel, it's a race-winning formula that surpasses current expectations for motocrossers (already proving its race winning potential nationally and internationally).

YZ450F
Featuring a radical rearward-slanting engine and 'reversed' cylinder head with the intake at the front and exhaust at the rear, the MX1 GP-winning YZ450F, in the hands of top stars Steven Frossard and David Philippaerts, brings factory bike technology to the privateer rider.

2-Stroke
Yamaha's legendary YZ250, YZ125 and YZ85/LW 2-strokes continue to deliver punchy power and agile handling performance.

Enduro
With class-leading reliability combined with seamless power and specially-developed enduro suspension, the WR enduro bikes are built to tackle the toughest terrain and come out on top. Whether enduro racing, trail riding or just playing in the dirt, Yamaha's WR-F models are built to do the job - as demonstrated by Helder Rodrigues' victory in the 2011 FIM Cross Country Rally World Championship.

Junior
For decades Yamaha has led the way in junior off-road bikes. With its larger wheels and a 125cc air-cooled engine, the TT-R125LW/E 4-stroke is the ideal transition between junior bikes and full-sized machinery. For new riders there's also the legendary PW50 and 4-stroke TT-R50E.

For 2013 all YZ-F, YZ, WR-F, PW and TT-R models will be available in DPBSE Racing Blue, and will feature stylish new graphics. The YZ450F and YZ250F models will be offered in two colour options, DPBSE Racing Blue and also PWS1 Sports White.
