Bentley sustains strong growth in deliveries into Q3

Crewe-based manufacturer Bentley Motors announces a 25 per cent increase in global sales with 5,969 cars delivered to customers at the end of September 2012 (up from 4,759 in 2011).

Sales have continued to grow in every region and the Americas maintains its
position as Bentley's largest global market with deliveries up 29 per cent on 2011 with 1,750 cars delivered to customers. In China deliveries were up 26 per cent with 1,525 cars delivered to customers.

"With a 25 per cent year on year increase in sales we are maintaining our objective of strong double digit growth in 2012. We are continuing to see significant expansion in all of our global regions and remain the market leader amongst our direct competitors," said Kevin Rose, Bentley's Member of the Board for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales.

"Sales have been driven by new model introductions including the Continental GT and GTC V8 which are now arriving with customers. In addition we have seen a very robust performance from our four-door vehicles with Mulsanne deliveries up by over 15 per cent and Flying Spur sales up by 5 per cent."

Bentley's other global regions echoed the strong performance in the American and China regions. In Europe customer deliveries were up by 20 per cent with 950 cars delivered whilst in the UK they were up 10 per cent with 854 cars delivered.

Elsewhere deliveries increased by 43 per cent in the Middle East (531 cars delivered to customers); 35 per cent in Asia Pacific (229 cars delivered to customers) and 69 per cent in Japan (130 cars delivered to customers).

With the new GT Speed set to enter the market at the end of this month, Bentley expects a strong finish to 2012 that will build on 2011's success.
