Volvo Trucks first to introduce 'Augmented Reality' at CV Show

In what is believed to be a European 'first' for a truck manufacturer, Volvo Trucks is introducing the use of 'Augmented Reality' (AR) as part of their CV Show presence.

The innovative AR technology adds a new dimension to traditional communications channels,
making multiple layers of information available to customers' tablets and smartphones. The feature is delivered through the 'Aurasma' app and for a smooth, exciting AR experience; visitors are encouraged to download the app and an up-to-date QR reader from the Apple App Store - or Google Play for Android users - ahead of the show.

There will be detailed user instructions provided throughout the Volvo Trucks stand and once the set-up is complete - it's easy. Visitors can simply make their way around the stand and point their device at the individual AR features to bring the added content to life.

"We are very pleased to be the first truck manufacturer to introduce Augmented Reality for use at the CV Show," said Volvo Trucks Marketing & PR Director Amanda Hiatt. "Volvo Trucks is already at the forefront in using new technology to help operators monitor and manage their trucks. By embracing this latest digital development, we can further empower our customers with valuable product information. We hope that it will help visitors to the Volvo Trucks stand not only access useful information, but also enhance their experience of the CV Show."
