Lexus sales off to a ‘quiet’ start in 2012

Lexus showed strength in sales in 2011 and has continued that trend so far in 2012. Sales in the year to March are up 18.4 per cent, led by the CT 200h compact premium car. The car market overall grew just 0.9 per cent, putting the strong increase by Lexus into
perspective.

CT 200h was the brand’s best-seller, posting a significant increase of 68.7 per cent over the same period last year. The car proves a particular hit with fleet buyers, with sales up 92.3 per cent versus 2011.

This is the beginning of a great year for Lexus, with the summer period seeing the arrival of the all-new GS 450h executive saloon. July also sees the arrival of the refreshed RX 450h SUV, recently premiered at the Geneva Motor Show. Both cars are available for delivery from mid-June.
