Sumit Sawhney joins Renault India as Executive Director, Marketing & Sales

Renault India Pvt. Ltd. announced the appointment of Sumit Sawhney, an automotive professional of many years in the Indian market to spearhead its marketing & sales activities in the Indian market. Coming on the heels of a slew of successful launch of five products
for the Indian market in 16 months this will further boost Renault India's attempt to create for itself a significant position in India.

Sawhney joined Renault India as Executive Director, Marketing & Sales from October 18, 2012. He brings with him 17 years of automotive experience. In his previous company he has been leading the sales, marketing and after sales activities. He has occupied diverse positions at different levels and fields. In Renault India, he will be based in Chennai and assume charge of Sales and Marketing on November 1, 2012 and will report to Marc Nassif, MD Renault India Pvt. Ltd.

With fast growing sales volume and rapidly increasing dealer network which will spawn over 100 outlets by the end of 2012, Renault top management opted for a local player as the professional who will lead Renault marketing & sales efforts in the Indian market.

Len Curran, VP, Marketing & Sales will relocate within Renault Group after completing his assignment in India. Curran joined Renault India in 2010 and was responsible for Sales & Marketing activities of Renault India.

Under Curran's leadership the company had successfully launched five products and started creating world class dealership facilities. Curran has a vast experience of the Renault process and he was instrumental in India in setting up the standards and process and ensuring that the future customers have access to world class Renault facilities.

Curran will hand over charge to Sawhney on November 1, 2012 but will continue to be with Renault India till early 2013 before leaving to assume charge of his new role within the Renault group.
