New-generation 911 and Boxster arrive in India; Porsche breaks monthly delivery record in India

Porsche India, the official importer for Porsche cars in the country, has commenced its retail operations with a record breaking performance during the month of October. Since the official start of deliveries to Indian customers on the first of October, the company managed
to top the best ever monthly sales performance for Porsche in India, with 117 owners receiving their cars.

"It has been a very exciting past six months for us at Porsche India and we are thrilled with the pace of our network expansion and new model launches in the country. Our first full month sales result in October has been in excess of 100 units which is the best ever for the brand here. It sets us on course for a good rest of the year," said Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India.

"I am pleased to announce the arrival of the new 911 Carrera, the seventh generation of this sports car icon, as well as the new Boxster S which was unveiled globally earlier this year," Reddi adds.

The Head of Porsche India is confident that both new models will add even more momentum to the increasing interest in the brand by customers and fans alike.

Since its introduction to the world almost 50 years ago, the 911 has continued to entice automotive enthusiasts. Now in its seventh generation, it offers an even sportier drive while enhancing comfort and day-to-day usability. The rear-mounted 6-cylinder, 3.8-litre engine of the 911 Carrera S produces 400 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km in 4.3 seconds. With the optional Sport Chrono package acceleration drops to 4.1 seconds delivering a top speed of 302 km/h. The new 911 Carrera is available with the world's first seven-speed manual transmission or the automatic 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK).

With its all-new lightweight body, further drive train efficiencies and the new electro-mechanical power steering, the Coupe offers better precision and response as well as significantly greater rigidity.

In terms of exterior design, the new 911 exudes power and elegance. It features now a flatter, stretched silhouette, exciting contours and precisely designed details.

Completely redesigned, the third-generation Boxster S is powered by an efficient mid-mounted 3.4-litre 6-cylinder engine, delivering 315 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes as little as five seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package and PDK. The classic open-top two-seater has undergone a complete revamp, demonstrating its allure: lighter and more muscular, more distinctive and more fuel-efficient.

Anil Reddi is excited about the latest generation 911 and Boxster arriving in his market. He added, "These iconic sports cars offer a winning combination of attributes - ranging from performance to efficiency and day-to-day usability - that has always been a trademark of Porsche."

In addition to the new sports cars, Porsche India also offers the Cayenne SUV and Panamera luxury Gran Turismo, both of which are available in a range of V6, V8 and turbo-charged V8 petrol engines as well as a V6 diesel power plant.
