New Citroen C4 Picasso earns 5 Euro NCAP stars

The Citroen C4 Picasso, due to launch in Ireland in September, has earned five stars in the Euro NCAP test. The rating acknowledges the work put in to the new MPV, particularly on safety, as well as the quality of the EMP2 platform, which is making its debut on
the new C4 Picasso.

The new Citroen C4 Picasso's five-star Euro NCAP score illustrates the Brand's work on safety and the advantages of the EMP2 platform, on which the new C4 Picasso is the first PSA Peugeot Citroen model to be built. The result acknowledges the efforts that went in to the car's development and the new model's comprehensive set of comfort and safety equipment.

The C4 Picasso scored a total 82 per cent according to the 2013 protocol, with five-star results in the four categories of Adult Protection, Child Protection, Pedestrian Protection and Assistance Systems.

The new Citroen C4 Picasso is available with the following driving aids for extra safety:
> Active cruise control, indexed on the speed of other vehicles
> An anti-collision alert that informs drivers using visuals, sound and by tightening the seatbelt
> Intelligent traction control for easier handling on low-grip surfaces
> Active seatbelts in the front seats that tighten when any danger is detected
> A video lane departure warning system (LDWS) that vibrates the driver's seatbelt
> A smart beam function that automatically dips the headlights
> A blind spot monitoring system
> Citroen eTouch, a free service package available 24/7 including manual and automatic alerts for incidents and accidents, with localisation and the intervention of the emergency services
