Alcon launches pioneering new range of supercar brake kits

Alcon, the internationally-renowned brake experts who are OE suppliers to Audi, Bentley, JLR, Ariel, Noble etc, and whose products have assisted Sebastien Loeb to eight consecutive World Rally Championship titles, have launched an exciting new range of carbon ceramic
brake kits for supercars such as the Nissan GT-R.

The CCX (Carbon Ceramic Xtreme) disc material represents the latest in lightweight brake technology and is half the mass of a similarly sized iron disc. This alone results in significant improvements in vehicle performance and agility. Extensively track tested by Alcon’s in-house R&D department, the product:
> It is fade free
> It has excellent initial bite from hot or cold
> It provides fearsome stopping power
> It features low wear rates of both discs and pads

The CCX discs are available in numerous sizes to suit customers’ individual requirements, while a number of standard supercar kits are in development and one is now ready for sale.

Alcon CCX SuperKit available now for Nissan R35 GT-R
This is the ultimate fast road/track conversion kit for the stunning R35 GT-R and features:
> 400 mm front ventilated, cross-drilled CCX discs mounted to stainless steel bells
> 385 mm rear ventilated, cross-drilled CCX discs mounted to stainless steel bells
> New 6-piston, monobloc billet front calipers fitted with Alcon CCX-1 pads
> 6-piston, monobloc billet rear calipers fitted with Alcon CCX-1 pads

The Nissan kit comes complete with all hardware to enable fitment within the GT-R’s original equipment 20 inch wheel rims. Similar applications for other supercars will follow shortly.

"The brake systems on most modern supercars are without doubt of a very high quality - stopping distances, brake feel a and fade resistance are significantly better than on previous such cars. The systems are, however, a compromise between cost, performance and refinement. The CCX range of products developed by Alcon takes things to another level and the leap in outright braking performance is a quantum one. If you want the ultimate performing brake, then the Alcon CCX system for the GT-R fits the bill perfectly, on road or track," said Alcon’s Sales Director, Jonathan Edwards.
