BEN moves into the fast lane

BEN the automotive industry charity has teamed up with George Murrells, one of the top drivers in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and British Endurance Championship.

In 2012, George will be competing in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship, a premier UK
race series, driving the latest Ginetta G55 GT3 supercar. The car will feature BEN's logo and in addition he will also be undertaking further fundraising to support and promote BEN including running in the Silverstone Half Marathon on March 10, 2013.

The budding racing driver started his career in 2008 when he broke a 7-year-old lap record at his 4th ever event. Six race wins and a Ginetta Challengechampionship victory during 2010 made him a man to watch in UK racing. In 2011 George moved up to the GT Supercup, taking a podium 3rd place in his debut at Brands Hatch and a sensational race win at Rockingham. Other success last year included victories in GT Trophy Enduro events at Oulton Park and Brands Hatch. 2012 got off to a great start with a class victory in the prestigious Dubai 24 Hours GT Race.

“I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to support BEN, the automotive industry charity.  It’s a relevant cause for us to promote and raise money for,” said George Merrells.

Nigel Williams, BEN’s Commercial Development Manager commented, "to have support from George, a driver in one of motorsports top competitions, is really great news for BEN and will help us to reach a wider audience in terms of creating awareness about our industry charity."
