Ford India sees steady growth in April, adds new export market

Ford India maintained its robust sales momentum during April, reporting sales of 9,569 domestic wholesales and export units for year-on-year sales growth of 13 per cent.

The April monthly sales figures included domestic wholesales of 7,201 units, while exports
grew by 103 per cent in April when compared to the same period last year, from 1,167 vehicles to 2,368 vehicles, indicating sustained international demand. Ford India also commenced exports of the Figo Cape Verde, taking the total number of international markets to which it is exported to 35.

“Following a very robust first quarter, Ford India continued to register steady sales growth in April despite an overall challenging auto market," said Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director, Ford India. "Our exports are increasing and have doubled since last year, and we have held our own in domestic wholesales, contributing to an impressive 13 per cent overall increase in sales."
