Inteva Products expands manufacturing presence in India with new plant in Pune

Inteva Products is expanding its automotive capabilities and global presence with the opening of a new Closure Systems and Motors manufacturing plant in Pune, India. The newly-constructed 72,000 sq ft facility was dedicated today in a grand opening celebration
attended by customers, suppliers and government officials. Key customers served by Inteva India include Ford, Volkswagen, Tata, Hyundai and Mahindra.

The Pune Plant Operations includes manufacturing lines for door latches, window regulators and motors, with in-process testing capabilities, plus open floor space to accommodate business growth. The new location in the Chakan industrial area also provides for future building expansion of up to an additional 35,000 sq ft. Inteva began its manufacturing operations in Pune in 2008 and today has approximately 270 employees. The new plant is ISO14001 and TS16949 certified.

"The Indian market is of significant importance to our global growth strategy. The new Inteva Pune facility, which more than doubles our manufacturing presence in this region, reflects our commitment to serve our growing base of customers," said Inteva President and CEO Lon Offenbacher. "The development of Pune's automobile industry signifies that the city is fast becoming a high-end auto manufacturing center and will attract more economic investment. Pune is an excellent centralised location for Inteva and we expect to grow and prosper here in India."

Inteva India has complete execution and operational capabilities with full quality-assurance testing for both Closure Systems and Motors & Electronic product lines. The plant is designed to accommodate organic growth and has the potential for future expansion into Inteva's other product lines of Interior Systems and Roof Systems.

In addition to the Pune Operation, Inteva has a technical center in Bangalore employing approximately 150 engineers.The Bangalore Technical Center has been in operation since 1997 supporting both global and India business.
