Renault India launches premium sedan Scala @ Rs. 6.99 lakh

In line with the commitment of launching five vehicles in 18 months, Renault India Pvt. Ltd., the fully owned subsidiary of Renault s.a.s., announce the launch of its 5th vehicle for the Indian market – the Renault Scala.

Renault Scala, which is a premium A3 segment
sedan, is a logical progression for Renault India for further strengthening Renault product portfolio in the Indian car market. Scala comes after Renault's serial and successful launch of four vehicles; the premium saloon Fluence, luxury SUV Koleos, premium  hatchback Pulse & the SUV Duster.

The Renault Scala is an elegant and dynamic sedan made for India. It is just the right car with which Renault India can reinforce its presence in the A3 segment. The Scala will be an exceptional quality product in its segment with an attractive price point. It is equipped with features that impart status, comfort and safety.

The Renault Scala defines Renault's motto – 'Drive the Change' and is a strong demonstration of Renault's commitment to the Indian market. Loaded with features and powered by Renault's most successful new generation 1.5 dCi (K9K) engine -  the Scala will stand for Renault's iconic image of bringing comfort, convenience, styling, safety and technology, all in one power packed offering with  smart pricing.

Engine & transmission
The Renault Scala will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. For the diesel variant it will use the reliable and fuel efficient 1.5 K9K, dCi diesel engine delivering a powerful performance with 86 ps @ 3,750 rpm as maximum power with a peak torque of 200 nm @ 2,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a fuel efficiency of 21.64 kmpl (ARAI figure).

The powerful petrol variant uses the 1.5 XH2 engine with a displacement of 1.5-litre. It produces a maximum power of 99 ps @ 6,000 rpm with a peak torque 134 nm @ 4,000 rpm. The petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a fuel efficiency of 16.95 kmpl (ARAI figure).

Renault's rich heritage of producing quality and comfortable cars is evident in the way the Scala is equipped. The stylish Scala comes with luxury features like premium leather upholstery , steering mounted audio controls, Automatic climate control, follow me headlamps,  Multifunctional Smart Key, electrically adjustable and foldable outside rear-view mirrors (ORVM)

The exterior of the car is equally striking with elegant design, chrome radiator grill, smoke styled headlamps, Dual Tone rear bumper, chrome finish door handles, rear chrome garnish & 15-inch sporty alloy wheels.

The Renault Scala has the best roominess & comfort in its class. Well thought out cabin space ensures that five adults can easily travel in comfort with ample head and leg room. The traveling comfort is further enhanced by the separate Rear Comfort Blowers. Arm rest at the rear seat provides an added comfort with wide and stylish seats.

Safety
The Renault Scala is loaded with active and passive safety features like dual airbags for the Driver and Passenger ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, anti-pinch power window and speed sensing auto door lock .

The Renault Scala will be manufactured at the Renault manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai and will be available at all Renault dealership’s across the country in 5 exciting colours (Pearl White, Metallic Silver, Metallic Red, Metallic Blue & Solid Black).
