Inaugural BEN motorcycle rally fires on all cylinders

BEN is delighted with the response to its first motorcycle rally which ran from Dover to Monaco over four days starting on September 22 and has raised almost £10,000 to date.

From the famous white cliffs
to the home of the world-renowned Monaco Grand Prix, this unique riding challenge lived up to everyone's expectations as 24 riders swept through the stunning French countryside on their way to the Mediterranean.

In total the riders covered 1,600 miles on a broad range of bikes from Honda to a Harley-Davidson generously backed up en route by AA patrolmen.

"Back safely. Thanks for organising a great trip for such a good cause. Had a ball and met some lovely people. Thanks again to you and the team at BEN and the AA," said Simon Herbert from Honda, after the rally.

Inspired by the response to its maiden motorcycle rally BEN is already planning next year's event which will run from June 22-25, 2013.

"Encouraged by the positive feedback from all participants and, of course, the monies raised we are already considering new routes for 2013 and hope to establish this as a major fundraising event on our calendar for years to come. Judging by the success of our first two-wheel event we hope to see even more entrants in 2013," said Kelly Neal, Events and Exhibitions Manager at BEN.

"It is vitally important that BEN is recognised as a charity that supports the entire automotive industry which, of course, includes motorcycles and all allied trades," she added.
