Michelin launches new ranges of windscreen wiper blades

Michelin has launched its new Stealth and Rainforce ranges of windscreen wiper blades, which together offer replacement fitments for approximately 95 per cent of the cars on UK roads.

The Stealth is a hybrid design, part way between a conventional blade
and a flat blade, and this ensures that wiper arm pressure is distributed evenly across the length of the blade to keep the whole wiping edge in contact with the windscreen during each sweep.

The Stealth blade is constructed using 'Smart-flex Technology'. This comprises a sprung frame encased in a soft aerodynamic cover that allows the frame to flex to the curve of the windscreen, protects from clogging with foreign objects and reduces wind-lift at speed.

Stealth blades can be fitted to cars equipped with hybrid or flat blades as original equipment and also as an upgrade to many cars originally fitted with traditional blades.

Whilst hybrid and flat blades are becoming increasingly common as standard fitment, many cars on the road still have traditional-style blades so Michelin's Rainforce range caters to this segment. Rainforce blades are constructed using a traditional metal frame with a compression moulded natural rubber blade which is coated with liquid graphite for a smooth, judder-free action.

Both Michelin wiper blades include all the fittings necessary to fit the blade to the respective car and include clear fitting instructions for DIY fitment.

With wiper blade condition and performance now being part of the MOT test and survey statistics showing  that as many as one-third of cars on the roads have defective blades, there has never been a better time for motorists to check that their wiper blades are up to the job.

The Stealth range is available in sizes from 16 to 28-inches (15-inch due to arrive later this year) and are priced from £13.99 to £16.99 each.

The Rainforce range is available in sizes from 14 to 28-inches and are priced from £4.99 to £8.49 each.
Both ranges are available now from car accessory shops nationwide.
