Volvo Cars of Canada appoints new VP of Marketing

Volvo Cars of Canada announced the appointment of Margareta Mahlstedt-Karayiannis to the position of Vice-President Marketing at Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. Margareta will start on the September 25, 2013, succeeding Brad Painter who left this summer to pursue other
opportunities in the automotive industry.


Margareta is making the transition from Rogers Communications where she was the Senior Manager for Go-to-Market Marketing Planning. She also worked for BMW Group Canada where she was the Marketing Communications Manager for BMW/Mini and subsequently helped establish the Mini brand in Canada as Brand Communications Manager.

"Given her experience in marketing and brand strategy, I have great confidence that Margareta will play a vital role in developing the Volvo brand here in Canada," said Marc Engelen, President & CEO Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. "I look forward to collaboratively supporting and challenging our dealer network to strengthen Volvo sales in Canada."
