Audi India records sales growth of 15 per cent up to September 2013

Audi continues on its growth path despite the current market conditions. The brand with the four rings registered a sale of 7,391 units in the period January-September 2013, a growth of 15 per cent (January-September 2012: 6,417 units). Continuing with its
expansion strategy on the product and network front, Audi introduced the Audi A4 with a powerful new 177 hp engine and Audi Drive Select, began production of the Audi Q3 in India last month and will close the year with 34 dealerships across India.

"We are pleased to have consolidated our No. 1 position in the luxury car industry. We are confident that we will be the first luxury car manufacturer in the country, to cross sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year. We continue with our expansion strategy on the product and network front, undeterred by the current market scenario. We have strengthened our product portfolio with new engines and exciting new features for the festive season which kicks in this month. We will also open three new dealerships in October," said Joe King, Head, Audi India.

The company clocked a quarterly growth of 5 per cent with a total sale of 2,545 units in the period July-September 2013, (July-September 2012: 2,417 units), with 965 units sold in September 2013.

"Our growing network footprint, expansion on the production front and refreshed product portfolio hold us in good stead for the year ahead, as we consolidate our leading position in India. We look forward to celebrating the upcoming festival season with the ever increasing Audi family in India," added King.
