Mercedes-Benz UK makes history, 100,000th car is sold within a yar

For the first time in its UK history, Mercedes-Benz has sold 100,000 new cars within a year. The 100,000th car was delivered at Mercedes-Benz of Bristol, and comes after the company posted record sales levels throughout 2013.

"It is the first time in our UK history
that we have broken into six figures - and there is still a full month of registrations to go before the year-end results. This is an unprecedented achievement by everyone who works in our passenger car division here at head office and across the network," said Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz UK.

The 100,000th sale marks an important moment in the company's UK history, as its new compact A-class attracts new customers to the brand for the first time.

The 100,000th customer is Jamie Leigh Arndell, who works as Transport Manager at Bristol and Avon Waste. Collecting her first Mercedes-Benz, a Cirrus White A 180 CDI Sport at Mercedes-Benz of Bristol, she explained, "It was a lovely surprise to pick up my new car and be told I was the company's 100,000th customer!"

"I liked the look of the A-class so I test drove one. It was a fantastic and smooth drive and looked great, so I opted for one as my own company car."

"The Sales Manager at Mercedes-Benz of Bristol, John James, was excellent and put me at ease. I have been very happy with everything and can't wait to drive my new car!"
