BMW Group UK launches all-new graduate recruitment scheme

BMW Group UK has launched recruitment for its brand new graduate programme with 13 places available across its Mini UK production network.

Developed alongside the company's graduate schemes in Munich, the BMW Group UK Graduate Programme
will welcome applicants in variety of areas ranging from engineering and finance to business and IT with eight based at the Oxford Mini plant, with four at the firm's pressings plant Swindon and one at the company's engine plant at Hams Hall near Birmingham.

Starting in October 2014 the programme will last for 24 months during which graduates will complete five different placements on various strategic and operational projects that will allow them to gain an insight into business process, strategy and culture from both a UK and global perspective.

"Investment in young people has long been a key part of our development strategy for the plant and we are looking forward to recruiting talented young people who have a passion for the motor industry," said Holly Chalmers, BMW Group UK's Recruitment and Staffing Ma.

Student Ciaran Raymer, 23, is currently working at Mini Plant Oxford as an intern as part of his year in industry. He is studying Business and Enterprise at Chester University and is based in Mini Plant Oxford's process management team. "I've had the opportunity to work with and learn from experts in their respected fields giving me access to an unparalleled level of knowledge. The launch of the new graduate scheme is really exciting and will be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the automotive sector," said Ciaran.

The BMW Group UK Graduate Programme is offered at Mini Plant Oxford, Mini Plant Swindon and BMW Plant Hams Hall depending on the position being applied for.

Applications close on February 28, 2014.
