Europcar opens a new franchise in Brazil

Europcar announced it has launched in Brazil and opened its first stations in the cities of Curitiba, Florianopolis and Porto Alegre, adding one more, yet very important country to its worldwide car rental services network. Europcar plans to open stations in the top 10 cities in Brazil
within the next 12 months.

Europcar's franchise partner in Brazil, Los Cipreses SA is one of the most important travel and tourism companies in Argentina and Uruguay. They are also the parent of subsidiary and well known regional brand 'Buquebus'. Buquebus is the largest passenger and vehicle carrier between Argentina and Uruguay, operating a large fleet of both cruise and high speed ferries. They also operate a regional and fast growing airline BQB with operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. With over 30 years experience they are one of the leading tour operator and transportation companies in the region.

"Europcar is proud to partner with Los Cipreses SA, to develop our presence in Brazil. In addition to being the most important economy in South America, we must have good mobility solutions for our large base of multi-national corporate customers, most of whom operate subsidiaries there. Additionally this move allows us to service our direct customers, airline and hotel partners and leisure customer base with an ever increasing network. For Europcar it is truly a great opportunity to participate in this very large and dynamic market where we already serve a significant number of Brazilian customers outside of Brazil. We look forward to extending our mobility solutions to these customers domestically as well. This new franchise, with the addition of our existing GSA South Marketing, leads us to be in a very strong position to deliver business to the Europcar network," said Marcus Bernhardt, Chief Commercial Officer, Europcar Group.
