Honda inaugurates its first-ever traffic parks in East India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) unleashed its latest step for spreading road safety awareness in India by bringing its traffic park for the first time to East India.

Honda has simultaneously inaugurated its 2 new traffic parks in Odisha at Bhubaneswar
and Cuttack. For this, Honda has associated with respective Regional Transport Authorities of Bhubaneswar-II and Cuttack. The two new traffic parks are located in Bhubaneswar (Driving Testing center, Chandarshekharpur) and Cuttack (Driving Testing center, Sector-6, CDA).

Honda's first traffic park in East India at Bhubaneswar was inaugurated by Ramesh Chandra Majhi (Minister of State, Commerce & Transport Department, with Independent charge for Commerce and Transport Department) in the august presence of Ashok Chandra Panda (Minister of State, Tourism & Culture Dept.), Prasanna Kumar Pattasani (MP, Bhubaneswar), Priyadarshi Mishra (MLA Bhubaneswar-North), Bijay Kumar Mohanty (MLA, Bhubaneswar-Middle), Ananta Narayan Jena (Mayor, BMC), Yadvinder S. Guleria (Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, HMSI) and Takanori Maruyama (Director, HMSI).

Later in the day, Cuttack traffic park was inaugurated by Manoj Ahuja (IAS, Transport Commissioner) with Rajendra Prasad Sharma (IPS, Commissioner Cuttack - BBSR Police Commissionerate), Girish S.N. (IAS, Collector, Cuttack), Sanjeev Arora (IPS, DCP, Cuttack), S.K. Panigrahi (Additional Transport Commissioner - Tech), Y.S. Guleria and Takanori Maruyama.

At both the traffic parks, Honda is set to promote Road Safety in a specially designed and safe environment.

At the traffic park, children from 5-8 years of age will be encouraged to learn 'Safety with Fun in Primary School activity. Honda's specially imported CRF 50 model will help young minds from 9-12 years understand the importance of safety riding through practical riding experience.

The Bhubaneswar traffic park is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all two-wheeler riders. Yadvinder S. Guleria added, "From more than a decade, Honda has been promoting safe riding activities across India. The basic issue is not only infrastructure but mindset of the road users. That is why the sea change cannot be brought overnight. It requires active participation from the Corporate, Government and society at large. As a good corporate citizen Honda understands its responsibility to contribute towards road safety promotion, keeping in mind the Indian traffic conditions and this Park is a significant step towards meeting our commitment of making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all two-wheeler riders."
