Tata Motors sold 40,883 vehicles in August 2014

Tata Motors' total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in August 2014 were 40,883 vehicles, a decline of 18 per cent over 49,611 vehicles sold in August 2013. Domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for August 2014 were
36,403 vehicles, 19 per cent decline over 44,717 vehicles sold in August last year.  

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 190,476 vehicles, lower by 25 per cent over 254,355 vehicles, sold last year.

The sales of commercial vehicles in August 2014 in the domestic market were 25,428 vehicles, a 23 per cent decline compared to 33,153 vehicles sold in August last year. LCV sales were 16,287 vehicles, a decline of 35 per cent over August last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 9,141 vehicles, a growth of 11 per cent, over August last year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was 126,682 vehicles, lower by 28 per cent over last year. Cumulative LCV sales was 80,658 vehicles, a decline of 37 per cent over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 46,024 vehicles, lower by 7 per cent over last year.

Sales of passenger vehicles for August 2014 were at 10,975 vehicles, lower by 5 per cent over 11,564 vehicles sold in August 2013. Sales of the passenger cars in August 2014 were 8,229 vehicles, lower by 6 per cent over 8,761 vehicles sold in August 2013. The sales of utility vehicles were 2,746 vehicles, declined by 2 per cent over 2,803 vehicles, sold in August last year.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 44,724 vehicles, lower by 21 per cent over last year. Cumulative sales of the passenger cars this fiscal was 33,450 vehicles, lower by 25 per cent over vehicles sold, over last year. The utility vehicles sales stood at 11,274 vehicles, 7 per cent decline over 12,116 vehicles, sold last year.

Exports were 4,480 vehicles in August 2014, declined by 8 per cent compared to 4,894 vehicles in August last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 19,070 vehicles, was lower by 7 per cent over 20,606 vehicles, over last year.
