Skoda shines in the 2012 J.D. Power Ownership Study

Skoda has further cemented its reputation of delivering outstanding customer service with another outstanding performance in the highly respected J.D. Power and Associates/What Car? 2012 UK Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study (VOSS)SM.

Skoda placed second overall in the manufacturer rankings, out of the 27 brands included in the study. This marks the 20th year in which Skoda has ranked in the Top Ten among makes, an unequalled achievement.

In the Small Family Cars category, positive owner feedback meant the Skoda Octavia placed number one in the class, the fifth time it has achieved the top spot in six years.

The popular saloon and estate earned a five-star rating overall – the only car in the class to do so – and got the same top mark for Mechanical Reliability, Interior Quality and Running Costs. In every other category, including for Dealer Service, it scored four stars.

Judged by thousands of car owners who live with their vehicles day-to-day, it’s one of the most influential and eagerly anticipated reports in UK motoring. The results are published in the June issue of What Car? magazine.

The What Car? editorial team said dynamic handling, sparky performance and great practicality meant another victory for the Octavia. “Its owners love it because it’s well-built, reliable and ultimately very practical,” the report stated.

The Skoda Superb was ranked fourth of all the 118 models included in the study.

“J.D. Power is recognised the world over as the benchmark motoring consumer satisfaction survey. Skoda’s great performance is testament to the excellence of our cars and our dealers,” said Alasdair Stewart, Skoda UK Brand Director.
