Ford Sollers announces more Ford vehicle models to be built in Tatarstan

After the successful Ford Transit production launch in Tatarstan earlier this year, Ford Sollers announces further enhancements to the Ford model line-up produced at its Elabuga facility – the Ford Kuga, Ford S-Max, Ford Galaxy and Ford Explorer have now joined the
assembly lines in the 'Alabuga' Special Economic Zone.

"Today we are announcing the start of local production of the Ford Kuga, Ford S-Max, Ford Galaxy and our flagship model, the Ford Explorer. This is a great pleasure for us because we know there is a great level of demand for Ford SUVs in the Russian market. As for Transit production, we've already built over 5,000 cars at in Tatarstan to date," said Adil Shirinov, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Ford Sollers.

"Through the production of new models, we will strengthen the Ford brand in Russia – and particularly in the SUV segment. According to our sales results for the first six months of the year, demand for the Ford Explorer and Kuga has increased considerably among our Russian customers, up by 85 per cent. Now, thanks to local production, we will be able to provide Russian customers with these great models in even larger numbers," said Ted Cannis, President and CEO, Ford Sollers.
