Business Minister first to view Bentley's new race car concept at the Paris Motor Show

Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley's Chief Executive and Chairman welcomes the new Minister for Business – Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP – to Bentley's stand at the Paris Motor Show.

Bentley has just announced a return to motor-racing with the reveal of the Continental GT3,
its new motorsport concept car. The Minister was one of the first to see the new car – just moments after it was officially unveiled. Dr. Schreiber took the opportunity to give Fallon a guided tour of the car and explain how Bentley's return to racing not only embodies the essence of the Bentley brand, but will also underpin the long term growth of the business.

"I am very grateful to Mr. Fallon for taking the time to come and visit us here in Paris and see the products we are showing; his visit to the stand is a great way to get to know the industry as he starts his new role.  Our return to racing is exciting for everyone at Bentley and has only been possible with the expertise and motivation of the team at our headquarters in Crewe," said Dr. Schreiber.

"Although I am new to Bentley, I know that the company has always welcomed the support it has received from the Government and we are looking forward to continuing this relationship."

Michael Fallon said, "The automotive sector is one of strategic national importance to the UK and the partnership we will develop with this sector, contributes to Government's industrial strategy which sets out a long-term approach to how Government supports business to deliver growth."

"Bentley is one of a number of UK-based automotive companies flying the flag for UK plc at the Paris Motor Show. The company's return to racing heralds an exciting new era for the company and I wish them all the very best with the project."

Alongside the Continental GT3, Bentley is also showing the new GT Speed upon which the race concept is based. The W12 engined GT Speed is Bentley's fastest ever road car, combining 625 ps and a top speed of 330 km/h with breath-taking acceleration. Also debuting in Paris is the Continental GTC V8 which is capable of speeds over 300 km per hour, but as 40 per cent increase in fuel efficiency is able to travel more than 800 km on a single tank of fuel.
