Lease returns easier, more convenient now for Nissan and Infiniti customers in US

Turning in a leased car is about to get easier, quicker and more convenient for customers of two Japanese brands. Nissan and Infiniti dealers now have a new app called RPM Mobile. It allows dealers to complete a lease return simply by using a cell phone or tablet.

To return a leased vehicle, using the new app, a dealer can use an iPhone, iPad or Android device to scan a sticker found on the inside of the driver’s side door.  That makes the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and customer's information pop up. Then the customer confirms everything on the screen is correct and electronically signs a return-receipt.

Dealers also can use the new app to purchase a customer's leased vehicle when the customer returns it to the dealer. Using the app, dealers simply select a payoff method, confirm the purchase and get a receipt. Then the dealer can sell the car back to the customer.

Nissan and Infiniti are the first and only brands using this type of new application. It makes the process quicker, and it is more accurate to scan in VIN numbers instead of writing them down for transfer into a computer.

All Nissan and Infiniti dealerships in the US will be able to start using the new technology this month.
