Renault Trucks are FIA European Truck Racing Championship winners

At the final meeting of the 2012 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season, Renault Trucks MKR-Technology became the European team champions. This is the second time the team has won this crown after its win in 2010. In the third race of the
weekend, the drivers even pulled off a one-two, despite driving rain. Even the leaden clouds could not dampen the manufacturer's determination to celebrate the triumph in style with its customers and everyone who shares the same passion for trucks.

Despite very wet weather conditions, Truck Racing's last meeting of the season turned into a great celebration for Renault Trucks. With exactly 1,000 points, the manufacturer carried off the European Championship crown together with the MKR-Technology team. Providing a great finale to the season, the drivers brilliantly defended the Renault Trucks colours on the Bugatti track, particularly on the Sunday morning. During a torrential downpour, Markus Bosiger and Adam Lacko pulled off a superb one-two. Adam Lacko was even back on the second step of the podium after the fourth and final race of the weekend. In the concluding rankings, Adam Lacko finished third with 330 points, Markus Oestreich fourth with 311 points and Markus Bosiger sixth with 282 points. Team 14 were also in a euphoric mood after an excellent weekend, with Anthony Janiec at the wheel of his Renault Premium ending the season with a bang. He claimed four podium places in four races, earning ninth place in the overall rankings.

On the magical Le Mans track, Renault Trucks went to huge lengths to share its enthusiasm for trucks with its customers, drivers and all those who attended the events throughout the weekend. Spectators were invited to visit the giant Renault Trucks dome where the manufacturer's 'French Talents' highlighted the fact that it operates four production sites in France and employs a workforce of 10,000. This was symbolised by the three majestic red, white and blue Renault Magnums that welcomed the visitors.

Next to them, two Renault Premium Selection Racing vehicles demonstrated Renault Trucks' expertise and capacity for innovation when it comes to used vehicles. This special edition, currently only available in France, offers customers the opportunity of giving their vehicle a personalised 'Truck Racing' look without making any compromise on cost or quality.

The Renault Trucks dome also promoted the theme of reducing fuel consumption by presenting the entire company's commitment under the All for Fuel Eco banner and its Optifuel Solutions, both designed to reduce spending costs on fuel. A focus which certainly proved popular, as almost 3,000 customers took up the invitation to come to the Bugatti track throughout the weekend. The Truck Racing at Le Mans was also an opportunity for Renault Trucks Racing to launch its Truck Racing simulation game on Facebook, which is already available on PC, smartphone and tablet.

Proud of its involvement in Truck Racing, Renault Trucks will continue to demonstrate its engagement in the sport, by taking part in the 2013 season. All its fans are therefore invited to yet another competitive season, with more excitement and enthusiasm, starting next spring.
