Enjoy a stress free trip with Alamo's automated in-car road toll payment service

For travellers in search of blue skies and warm weather, Portugal offers the perfect winter getaway.  And for Brits planning to make the most of the winter sun, leading car hire company, Alamo Rent A Car, makes the journey that bit easier.

Earlier this year, Portugal introduced
road tolls. But Alamo Rent A Car has it covered with its Electronic Toll Management Service which means holidaymakers can avoid road toll fines and the hassle of queuing at post offices to pay the fee.

All Alamo Rent A Car vehicles in Portugal are fitted with an electronic toll device called Via Verde, as part of its Toll Management Service. Available at the cost of €1.50+VAT per day, charged up to a maximum of 10 days per rental, the electronic solution automatically pays any tolls incurred on highways in Portugal.

Toll fees are automatically debited from the customer's credit card, at no extra cost, avoiding the risk of fines and eliminating the need to sit in queues at toll booths or post offices. This leaves Alamo customers with more time to enjoy their visit to Portugal, as well as the freedom and peace of mind to explore.

"The new road tolls in Portugal can be confusing, putting travellers at risk of paying hefty fines if they don't pay the fees," explained Neil Summerville, EMEA Franchising Director, Alamo Rent A Car. "However, our Toll Management Service takes all that stress away, leaving Alamo customers free to relax and enjoy their trip."

"Now, Alamo customers can getaway this winter to enjoy the Algarve without the crowds and without the road toll fines."
