Ryan Farquhar presented with celebratory one-off Shark helmet

Road racing ace Ryan Farquhar was presented with a one-off Shark helmet at Motorcycle Live to celebrate his successful racing career, following his decision to retire from full time racing.

The Irishman first wore the French brand in 2006 and has stayed loyal until announcing
his retirement in early September. During his amazing road racing career spanning 20 years, Farquhar racked up 199 Irish National wins and won three times at the challenging Isle of Man TT races. One of the most successful road racers of all time, Farquhar also won five times in one day at the Cookstown100.

Farquhar was presented with the one-off painted Race-R PRO by Shark's Sales Director Christophe Miravalls. The helmet was painted in Farquhar's orange and black racing colours, with the ace's career statistics and vital figures included.

"We are so proud to be able to present Ryan with this helmet," said Christophe Miravalls. "It has been a real pleasure supporting Ryan over the last six years and he will be sorely missed by Shark and the sport."

"I was really proud and honoured to be presented with this special helmet," said Farquhar. "Shark has really looked after me over the years. The product is brilliant and the race support is faultless. This helmet will be treasured and I will have to find a very special place to keep it."

Farquhar will use his 'retirement' to concentrate on running his ever-busy race workshop and will no doubt participate in future parade laps and classic outings. Farquhar and motorcycles are inseparable.
