Kia appoints Simon Gardiner as Head of Brand Communications

Kia Motors (UK) Limited has appointed Simon Gardiner to the role of Head of Brand Communications at the company's head office in Weybridge, Surrey.

Simon took up the new role on Monday, January 7, 2013 and joins a 21 strong Marketing and Product team. Reporting
directly to Lawrence Hamilton, Marketing Director, the new Head of Brand Communications role will be responsible for the on-going advertising, media buying, dealer marketing, events and sponsorship as well as Fleet and After-Sales marketing programmes.


"Simon joining the team will be a great addition and will further strengthen the team responsible for ensuring we deliver an outstanding service to our dealer network and grow the Kia brand using a plethora of advertising, events and sponsorship channels," said Lawrence Hamilton.

Commenting on his appointment Simon said, "This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic brand which boasts an exceptional product line-up as well as a superb dealer network all backed by an industry leading seven year warranty. The challenge ahead is to further develop the brand's image to help the business deliver its ambitious targets and to innovate in the way it communicates to consumers."

Simon (41) will bring to Kia a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous role as Head of Marketing Communications at Honda where he was responsible for marketing cars, power equipment and motorcycles. Prior to joining the motor industry he studied Maritime Defence and Management at the Royal Naval Engineering College, Manadon.
