Robert Moran appointed as Director of Communications for Mercedes-Benz USA

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has announced the appointment of Robert Moran as its new Director of Corporate Communications. Moran replaces Geoff Day.

In his new position, Moran will lead corporate communications strategies and initiatives for the
company's U.S. operations, reporting directly to President and CEO Steve Cannon. Specific responsibilities include directing media relations for product, brand and corporate communications.

A 10-year employee of MBUSA, Moran joined the company in 2003 as manager, product and technology public relations, where he headed related communications activities for the department. His most recent post was product manager of AMG and exclusive vehicles, overseeing all product and lifecycle management initiatives in support of the sales and marketing of high-performance AMG models and designo personalization.

Moran has nearly two decades of experience in the public relations and automotive industries. He started his career in 1994 at Fred Mackerodt, Inc., as Press Fleet Manager, responsible for the distribution, media programs and quality control of General Motors press vehicles on the East Coast. Two years later he moved to HWH Public Relations and Ruder-Finn, Inc., working with such brands as Subaru of America, Inc., Volkswagen of America, Samsung and Sony. Then, in 2000, Moran became Product Relations Manager and Corporate Communications Manager at Subaru of America in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he supervised the development of press materials and press introductions and coordinated internal and external communications.

Moran holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. He currently resides in Northern New Jersey with his family.
