Honda reorganises UK and European PR structure

Honda confirmed the reorganisation of its UK and European PR structure, as key communications positions are filled.

In the Honda (UK) PR team, Rebecca Stead has been appointed as Head of Corporate Affairs. Rebecca will work alongside Paul Ormond for the remainder
of 2013, before Paul retires from Honda, after more than 20 years as General Manager of Honda's UK PR operation.

Paul has been the face of Honda in the UK for a number of years, through the creation of its UK manufacturing operation in Swindon and the launching of some of its most iconic models including the NSX, S2000, Civic Type R, the first hybrid and hydrogen powered cars in Britain and even bringing the Honda ASIMO robot to Windsor Castle.

"It's been a great experience, challenging, but always rewarding! It's been a particular pleasure knowing the many automotive and business journalists across the UK and Europe, members of the Guild of Motoring Writers, the regional motoring writer groups and of course my fellow PRs," said Paul.

Rebecca has spent 15 years working for Honda (UK) and most recently led the Southern Regional Sales Team, after initially starting her Honda career in the PR business.

Further changes in the UK team include the promotion of Ellie Ostinelli and Tom Hobbs to PR Communications Managers and the recruitment of Dev Mistry on a one year placement as part of his degree in PR at Bournemouth University. Ellie will be the main contact for all car media enquires and Tom for motorcycles.

Honda has also confirmed senior positions in its European PR business. Kate Saxton has now been appointed to the position of Manager - European Communications, moving from her previous position as Manager - Corporate Affairs, Honda (UK).

Bringing her extensive knowledge of PR and Honda with her, Kate will play a key role in shaping Honda's European PR activity whilst taking responsibility for the PR performance of Honda's 17 European Branches. Kate's appointment follows on from the announcement of fellow previous Honda (UK) PR team member, John Kingston being appointed Head of Public Relations for Honda Motor Europe in April 2013.
