Shot putter Danny Nobbs took time out from his busy training schedule to test the new Alfa MiTo TwinAir for size, as he prepares for a big sporting year ahead in 2013. Danny put the MiTo through its paces, as Alfa Romeo continues its support of one of the UK's most promising
paralympic athletes.
Danny (33), who lives and trains in Norfolk, is the British shot put recorder holder in his class and currently ranked fourth in the world this season. Having already thrown the mandatory 8.5 meters required to compete, he is currently training hard to be a part of the team to be taken to the IPC World Championships in July 2013.
The Alfa MiTo is the world's sportiest compact car which complies with the highest Euro NCAP crash safety rating, and the Alfa MiTo 1.4 8v 78 bhp Sprint is now available with Nil advance payment for Motability customers.
With one of the largest fleets in the UK, over the past 30 years the Motability charity has helped over three-million people get mobile by exchanging their mobility allowance for a brand new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. From January 2013 all Alfa Romeo vehicles available through Motability, can be purchased through the charity's advance payment scheme, starting from zero pounds advance payment for the Alfa MiTo 1.4 8v 78 bhp Sprint.
For just a £95 Advance Payment* buyers can upgrade to the Alfa MiTo Distinctive trim available with both diesel or TwinAir engine and with superior specification like the Alfa D.N.A. system, sports seats upholstery, red painted brake calipers, 17-inch alloy wheels and rear parking sensors.
"It's fantastic to see Alfa Romeo's continued support of the Motability scheme. The Alfa that I drive is a huge support in getting me to and from training. After the disappointment of finishing fourth in the world and not being selected for London 2012 because of the IPC's late ruling on F54 throwing frame specification, I'm fully focused on the 2013 World Championships and giving myself the opportunity to set the record straight at Rio 2016," said Danny.
Damien Dally, Head of Brand, Alfa Romeo UK said, "Alfa Romeo has a long standing tradition of supporting British sporting talent and it is a privilege to be providing such a promising athlete as Danny with one of our vehicles. We wish him the best of luck for the 2013 World Championships."
